What is a gap analysis?
A gap analysis is used to determine the steps that need to be taken for the organization or department to go from the current-state to a preferred-state. This is the starting point of the HR development and training process.
Why should YOUR organization perform a gap analysis?
A gap analysis can be conducted for a number of reasons, such as:
- To identify an organization’s goals and how effective they are at reaching those goals
- To identify the gaps or discrepancies between the employee’s or organization’s skills and the skills required for effective performance
- To identify the gaps or discrepancies between current skills and those skills needed to perform successfully in the future
- To identify the conditions that must be present within the organization for successful productivity to occur
How will HRG help you perform a gap analysis?
A gap analysis is CRITICAL for any effective HR development effort. It takes a broad look at an organization’s effort in a particular area. After performing the analysis, HRG will be able to provide you with the following:
- HRG can provide you with the information such as where and what kinds of programs or interventions are needed, and who should be included in these
- HRG will also be able to identify any individual or department that should be included in the improvement measures
